It's like korol showed in the announcement. Friendships are "one way". Which means that you can add users, but that won't mean they will add you. The reason for the lack of "verification" is not only because it's easier to implement, but it also prevents possible fights as well, since you can add someone and IF that person doesn't want to add you, they don't have to full-on "decline" you. This way, users can be comfortable enough to just not add you as a friend if they don't really feel like having you in their profile just yet without needing to let you know they declined your offer.
Seeing the pics and graphics, and hearing the music from the game makes me so emotional!!
