I'm not a professional artist, but I've been drawing for as long as I can remember. And drawing in Winx style definitely holds a special place in my creative journey! It's even kind of my comfort activity now.

Do you use bases or do you draw the pose completely with free/with reference?

Salomea, this is my friend's design Though I'm not sure if she bought it or commissioned it from an artist based on her own description. (she's not really into drawing)

Alexarion, if I remember correctly, for this drawing I used a photo of a real person as a reference for the pose, only slightly changed the position of the arm.

But overall, when it comes to Winx style, it really depends: sometimes I use real-life photos for references, sometimes I draw completely from my head, and sometimes I use bases (I draw over the official arts/screenshots; I'm actually glad that Winx art community is OK with bases, because they're such a convenient and quick way to bring an idea to life )

I drew an illustration with a girl standing on one of Alfea's towers, and asked people to send me their characters so I could choose one to draw in the scene.

Also, I just want to mention that with this new wave of my Winx style art phase I've actually started enjoying drawing backgrounds! 10 years ago, I wouldn't have believed I'd say that, but drawing backgrounds (I think from seasons 1–3 specifically) brings me real joy now! Although it can still be very challenging It's so nostalgic to draw them...
