Hello everyone! zao_zao

This is your space to share, discuss, and gush about your favorite shows from South Korea. Let’s create a chill and friendly place to bond over all things K-drama. /houra//

A Small Word of Caution
While this is a family-friendly space, K-dramas sometimes explore darker or more intense themes. Talking about them in detail is forbidden, however, if you’re under 13, we recommend sticking to lighter dramas and avoiding Googling certain titles on your own from this topic. Always feel free to ask trusted adults for guidance or ask us what the kdrama mention is about if you're unsure before googling.

What Are K-Dramas?

For anyone new to this, K-dramas are Korean television series packed with incredible storytelling, stunning visuals, and emotional depth. Some can be light and fluffy, deeply moving, or even dark and thrilling. Whatever your taste, there’s probably a K-drama that’s perfect for you.

What Can You Do Here?

Share Your Faves: Tell us about your favorite dramas and why you love them.
Ask for Recommendations: Can't decide what to watch next? Let the community help!
Discuss Storylines: Got a plot twist you can’t stop thinking about? Share your thoughts!

To keep this corner fun and respectful for everyone, here are a few simple rules:

Stay On Topic:
This space is all about K-dramas, so let’s keep the focus here. (Other discussions are welcome in their respective categories!)

No Spoilers Without Warnings:
If you’re discussing a major twist or ending, please use spoiler tags or give a heads-up. Let’s not ruin anyone’s viewing experience!

Keep It Respectful:
Everyone has their own opinions and favorite genres—there’s no right or wrong way to enjoy a K-drama. Be kind.

No Spam or Self-Promotion:
This isn’t the place for ads or unrelated promotions. Let’s keep the vibe authentic and community-focused.

While You Were Sleeping

My favorites, however, have to be Tunnel and While You Were Sleeping. I really liked them. I hate the last minute of Tunnel because it breaks the entire story but I just pretend it doesn't exist. WYWS was flawless though.

I really, really love the OST for Tunnel however. Makes me feel so sad...

It was a really, really good one. I love how coherent it is until the last minute.

General Synopsis:

TUNNEL:
In 1986, Detective Park Gwang-ho is dedicated to solving a series of killings in a small town while his wife is pregnant. While chasing the elusive culprit, he passes through a mysterious tunnel and finds himself transported 30 years into the future, to 2016, unable to go back no matter how much he tries. In this unfamiliar world, he discovers that the killer's reign of terror has continued unchecked. His wife and child are missing.

Teaming up with the sharp and reserved Detective Kim Sun-jae and the intuitive criminal profiler Shin Jae-yi, Gwang-ho must navigate modern technology and police procedures while adjusting to the cultural changes of the new era. Together, they race against time to catch the murderer and uncover the truth behind his time-traveling journey. Can he ever return?

Genre: Crime, Mystery, Thriller, Time Travel
Themes: Justice, Redemption, Found Family

WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING:
Nam Hong-joo, a young journalist, has the mysterious ability to see future events in her dreams. However, these dreams are often tragic and seemingly unchangeable. Her life takes a turn when she crosses paths with a random stranger, Jung Jae-chan, a rookie prosecutor, who also has similar prophetic dreams. Together, they team up to prevent the devastating events they foresee, rewriting the fates of those around them.
As they work to stop these future tragedies, they are joined by Han Woo-tak, a kind-hearted police officer who is saved by both and develops the same fated dreams. The trio forms an unlikely bond, using their jobs as resources to uncover dark secrets, fight for justice, and protect each other from dangers lurking in both the present and the future.

Genre: Romance, Fantasy, Legal Drama, Thriller
Themes: Fate, Justice, Love, and Sacrifice

Favorite K-Drama Genre (e.g., Romance, Thriller, Comedy): I like almost every genre, but I'd say thriller!
First K-Drama You Watched: A basic: W! I remember loving it!
What Makes You Love K-Dramas?: Kdramas don't usually have many episodes (often only 16), which helps to avoid boredom with very long scenes. What's more, the stories are often brilliant. That's why I've been watching kdramas for a long time now.
