What is Miraculous Ladybug?

Miraculous Ladybug is an animated series set in Paris, where two teenagers, Marinette and Adrien, transform into the superheroes Ladybug and Cat Noir to protect the city from villains. Guided by magical beings known as kwamis, they wield incredible powers through their magical jewelry—the Miraculous! Each episode is filled with action, mystery, and a bit of romance as they face off against the villainous Hawk Moth.

Meet the Heroes
The series boasts an incredible cast of characters, each with unique personalities and abilities. Here are some of the main heroes:

• Marinette Dupain-Cheng (Ladybug): The protagonist and the brave, clever Ladybug. Armed with her yo-yo and "Lucky Charm," she has the power of creation and always finds a way to outsmart villains. Marinette also juggles her double life as a regular schoolgirl and the city's savior.
  
• Adrien Agreste (Cat Noir): The charming and humorous Cat Noir, who fights alongside Ladybug. His cat-themed suit gives him agility, strength, and the power of destruction with his "Cataclysm." As Adrien, he is a kind but often lonely teen with a complicated family life.
  
• Rena Rouge: Alya, Marinette's best friend, becomes Rena Rouge when she wields the Fox Miraculous. Her illusion powers and clever thinking make her an excellent ally in battles.
  
• Queen Bee: Chloé Bourgeois, the mayor's daughter, becomes Queen Bee. She can paralyze her foes with her venomous sting, though her personality often causes complications for the team.
  
• Carapace: Nino, Adrien's best friend, transforms into Carapace using the Turtle Miraculous. His shield power makes him a formidable defender in battle.

Season-by-Season Plot
Each season has a moving plot, especially season 4-5! Here's a list of the synopsis of each season!

• Season 1: The origin story! We meet Marinette and Adrien as they become Ladybug and Cat Noir. The season focuses on Hawk Moth's akumatized villains and the duo learning to work together while maintaining their secret identities.
  
• Season 2: Introduces new Miraculous holders and reveals more about the secrets of the Miraculous. We witness deeper character development, new superpowers, and the intensifying threat of Hawk Moth as he learns more about our heroes.
  
• Season 3: The stakes get higher as new allies and adversaries emerge. Lila, a girl capable of lying her way out of trouble, returns and is here to stay, ready to force people to turn against Marinette, who gets almost akumatized! Marinette faces new challenges as Guardian of the Miraculous and learns more about her role. Hawk Moth's schemes grow more complex, and the heroes' resolve is tested. Chloé makes a choice that changes her life forever.
  
• Season 4: The Peacock miraculous is now fixed. Hawkmoth becomes Shadowmoth. Not only is Marinette Ladybug, the superheroine that protects Paris from the attack of villains, but she’s also now the guardian of the Miraculous after Master Fu loses his memories. This means that not only does she need to keep her identity hidden, but also the existence of these turbulent, magical creatures, the Kwamis! Marinette has a lot of pressure, not to mention her school and love life! Now she has less time and opportunities to tell Adrien her feelings... will she be able to keep the Miraculous safe?
  
• Season 5: Ladybug has lost the Miracle Box and its kwamis.. she no longer has possession except her Miraculous and Cat Noir with his. Shadow Moth, who now calls himself Monarch, has never been so close to victory. He can now give his akumatized victims Miraculous powers and create super ultra-powerful villains. Will he win?

I totally agree with you about the special, it was enjoyable. I think this and the Paris one are my favorites, but there were some plot holes that stood out to me.

I don't know if I ever said this, but I am creating a fanmade season 5 and 6 of a tv show called Code Lyoko and I write, produce and animate the whole thing, so I became very keen to stories and plot. And I hate how Miraculous always creates little inconsistencies that paying a bit of attention to their own rules would fix it...

One thing that bugged me was Marinette's parents talking about Hawkmoth for example. He was only introduced later that day in Origins Part 2. No one knew about him back when Marinette put her earrings in the drawer in Part 1. So how would they even know about him?

And then there's the whole thing with Ladybug using the boomerang Lucky Charm from the season 5 special to fix everything. Shouldn't the Lucky Charm have disappeared after the fight? She detransformed in front of Gabriel and then transformed back when Nathalie appeared, when she transforms back the yoyo respawns and her previous Lucky Charm disappears. I mean, in the Season 4 finale and even between Season 5 episodes 3 and 4, it's shown that the Lucky Charm goes away once it's used. The Paris special shows this as well, with the tie on his lair but later that day gone after she used a lucky charm fighting the doppelgangers.

Also, the "akumatized villains can't remember" rule doesn't seem to hold up. Just last week in the show's timeline, we saw Volpina in Revelation remember everything and plan it all out, from the locker with the phone to the perfect control of her emotions. If a villain willingly accepts akumatization, they definitely seem to retain their memories. Gabriel himself akumatized into The Collector in Season 2 and remembered everything afterward, even laughing about how he was off the hook at the end of the episode.

It just feels like the show sometimes bends its own rules for the sake of the plot, and it can be confusing for those of us who notice these details.

Overall: 7.5/10 though. I really love how serious the show is, it reminds me of old cartoons back in early 2000s and I'm glad it is this way. I just wish they paid more attention to the story

of course it's an imperfect show but Thomas Astruc keeps sayin' this is the best one and the new graphics is waaay better (even if they look like children 8-9 y.o. )

Unfortunately, yes. They're trying to make the show for both children and adults. But they can't handle it
I won't forgive them my Chloe Queen Bee (okay, the thing about that the villain doesn't always become good is interesting, but then they made her worse and worse... )

What about Kagami and Felix? They literally told Mari who the Hawkmoth is and... she didn't get it Or forgot it by the next episode?

Yeah, I also see many mistakes but omg I loved the graphics of the first seasons. I loved the idea of the love quad haha (with just two people). How many things they made and then just skipped/forgot

Probably I'm watching because of the same reason as you do. Winx also has so many plot holes, mistakes but we still love them (but for me there are just 3 and a half seasons )

Yup, I totally get where you're coming from That's the thing, even though Miraculous has its fair share of plot holes and moments where it feels like they're bending the rules just to make the plot work... it's still an amazing show. The characters are amazing, the music fantastic, the story is not that bad no matter what people say, it's the execution that sometimes doesn't land well and overlooking those imperfections actually makes it more enjoyable—like it’s almost perfect if you ignore the plot holes!

It's a shame because many of these issues could have been avoided, especially when it comes to consistency in the storyline. Simply paying attention or rewatching their own show or writing down every single rule would've fix it...

But at the end of the day, it’s still such a fun, vibrant show with so much charm that it’s hard not to love it
