What has surprised you in Winx Club?

Here we can discuss about what has surprised you in Winx Club. It can be a surprising information of a character's background, surprising plot twist, surprising comment or a way of behaving you didn't expect etc.

I found much information about the characters and places in Magix from the s2 themed official Winx website via Wayback Machine. In Faragonda's profile there was a text that she was a witch earlier! At least they never talked about that in the RAI dub (I don't know about the 4kids dub since I haven't watched it). I'd love to know more about this!!

Also I went to see the Red Fountain page, which stated, that Riven's mom abandoned him and that's why he has trust issues. I find it really logical, but surprising because I don't remember him talking about it on the series.

I also found that Athena, the pixie of the Red Fountain, hates Codatorda and that's pretty hilarious imo

I have screenshots of these profiles (and the other profiles too since I'm planing on collecting all the pics and texts from the website) and I can post them later here

I remember that little tidbit about Faragonda being a witch on the old site! I think it's one of those things that have been left up for fandom debate, since there's nothing concrete about it anywhere. That said, I think it's super cool that she was once a witch (thus proving that witches aren't inherently bad)

One thing that definitely surprised me was learning about Bloom's inherent ability to heal people, because it made me wonder why she couldn't heal Nabu later on... I've seen people discuss how she needs to have an emotional connection with the other person to heal them, but hm...

Riven's mom abandoning him and Musa's mom passing away so early on... What a coincidence

I always wanted to learn more "behind the scenes" lore about Winx Club, which wasn't shown in the series and that's why I was so surprised when I read all of this! I grew up with the s2 website but I was so young that I couldn't understand English so I missed all of this. And finally being able to see the informations I missed through Wayback Machine now feels so satisfying! I've seen some fans talking about Faragonda being a witch earlier but to see the information with my own eyes just feels special. But it also deepens the lore: I've always thought that Mirta can't be the only one, who has switched schools! I remember some people pointing out that it'd be a sign of Faragonda's witch powers, that she's able to fly without transforming. When I was a kid, I never paid attention to that: I just thought that she's strong enough to fly without having wings.

Yeah it seems like the writers just forgot Bloom's healing skills, which sucks

Riven's background could explain his behaviour better. It's interesting that he and Musa share the same kind of trauma - maybe that's why they have issues but are also so bound to each other.

Also about Nabu's death,she revived him a few episodes before that and they reversed the animation of hik coming back to life to show him pass. YIKES.

Now that you mention it, Faragonda's ability to fly makes much more sense now. I'm not sure if it was posted here before, but Faragonda's appearance from the Magical Adventure movie (when she's mentioned as part of the Company of Light) doesn't seem to have her with wings either:

That said, are Riven and Musa still together? I distinctly remember something about them parting ways in the latter seasons (I honestly have no clue if they got back together)
