Sounds nice! I think giving away physical copies of video games (especially pc) has a nostalgic factor. I love it.
Btw. maybe a bit ..offtopic.// but actually not, so..

I got into playing on my Nintendo DS again and the DS has some wild Sims Games you wouldn´t think they´re.
I mean, there´s Sims 2 pets appartment, Sims 3, Sims 3 pets but there are another two sims games that are... very different. They´ve a story mode and the characters are wild

In Sims 2 DS you have to lead a hotel, bring back a lot of customers and fight aliens. You can actually play it on the PC if you download an emulator.

My favorite indeed is Urbz! I love it! Also a story game where you have to gain the highest popularity and bascially become the major. It´s soo funny and I love the personality of the characters. Definitely check it out!

Good luck still ;)

I'using external dvd player, but I still feel better with having physical copies. Especially that we all know ea's reputation...
Thanks for the tip about emulator. I think I've heard there was some sims for Nintendo, but I didn't know if it's any good.

Urbz souns fun, though in all fairness I don't play much these days. I think the last game I completed was probably "Assemble with care " :ehmeh::

I appreciate the faith you put into me and my laptop

It´s insane. I don´t know the current prices for DLC packs but I remember back then when Sims 3 released, one DLC packs costed like 40 euro. And the stuff in it wasn´t even worth the price. Unfortunately they still get away with it :ehmeh::

So the classic Sims is your exception when it comes to video games? :)

"Assemble with care" looks interesting! Actually never heard of it. But it looks cozy.

Good luck with getting back Sims 3! I don't know why, but for me, 4 turns boring very fast. Is that anyone else's experience too? Then again, I am a weirdo, who still has sentiment for Medieval and Sims 2.

Unfortunately I won´t get back. Back then I used the PC of my mother. Now I only have a laptop and I think it won´t handle it :ehmeh::

Same! I tried Sims 4 several times but I just can´t get into it. Can´t dive into it like in Sims 3 and I don´t like the cartoon graphic. I miss the open world I loved it in Sims 3.

I surprisingly never had Sims 2. But my sister used to play Sims 1 and it was quite funny

So your heart beats for Sims 2? Which DLC packs do you have? :)

I love the Sims 3 so much  so much nostalgia. It was so good.
I haven't played it for years. I still have the Sims 3 CD roms but I can't run them on my macbook and I don't know if they still work since I used the codes for them. And I can't get back into that account...

I haven't played the Sims 4 for years either. My macbook can't run it with all my CC en mods. And I lost the password and don't know which emailaddress I used

It's the same faith I put in my laptop, though mine needs a lot of conservation and componets replacements :D

I can't say, but I don't suppose they got cheaper, but they definitely got smaller and worse. I got two on sale years back, but some things were limited to the new, and extremelly small, neighbourhoods and got boring fast... Stil, I was lucky, from what I've heard some came out completely brokena and there was the one, that deleted all user's saves...

Yes, sims2 is a bit of the exception. Aside that I played a bit of tes: online and almost completed oblivion (again) and generally I don't really have patience for long games. I like to small cozy games, like assemble with care or unpacking. I don't know, but most big games aren't fun for me anymore. (Though I still haven't got my hands on BG3...).

I definitely can recommend that game, same with Unpacking. They are cute and small, if that's your kind of thing :)

So you’re going to repair your laptop? How old is yours?

That‘s the thing. I get that development needs a lot of time and you‘ve to pay people and get profit. But this way, it‘s just cruel. Honestly at this point the consumers are at fault. If nobody would still buy it with less content EA wouldn’t continue doing that :ehmeh::

It depends for me. I like long games as long there‘s an end coming. So I never was into online games for example because they were endless and I like to finish games :)

I also played Unpacking and I loved everything about it! The music, the sounds, the graphic. It was great. Definitely checking out assemble with care!

I‘m excited because on January 30th Nintendo is releasing a game called Hello Kitty Island Adventure. I‘m not a Hello Kitty fan but I love cute animals and stuff. It‘s kind of like Animal Crossing but you‘ve specific tasks to do for the villagers //MWOMWO"

My laptop is ancient. So much so, that even if I'd replace my broken graphic card, I rather wouldn't be able to run most new games anyway...

You are far too generous towards EA. Even if people wouldn't be buying, they would find a different way to rip off the customers and their devs. After all they've been like that for nearly 30 years, so long before microtransactions. (Not that $40 is a micro transaction in the first place EA!)

That's fair. I just find myself often overwhelmed, or bored, with the long games. The last "long" game I tried to get through was "dragon age: inquisition" and I never finished it. Similarly, I never went through the main quest in Skyrim (though that was because bugs locked me out of it...). And they both were published like 15 years ago

Hope You're going to have fun with the two games. I assume, that as a nintendo game, it will be polished and cozy ^^

I feel you. I pray for your laptop to keep living! /flowerpower/ I also try to be gentle with my laptop. It´s not that old and I only use it to prepare documents for printing. But since I´m here I´m reguarly on my laptop again.
By the way while reading your text a video just popped in my mind. I watched it earlier on Instagram and I´ve to send it to you. I laughed so hard about this

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpQQohcHk9Q

Yeah that may be the case. But I still think both are at their faults here. If I buy a dlc pack for 40 euro and it lacks of content I´ll think twice if I´m gonna buy a second one. Nothing will change as long as people buy it.

Salomea, what do you think about a new sims mobile game with microtransactions? You can play few minutes until the day in the game is over and you´d have to wait 24 hours to continue playing. If you don´t, no problem. Just spend 4,99 euro for another day to play. Sounds fun right?

Dragon Age has an open world right? I´ve my problems with that. I mean, I don´t care in sims because it still has it limits but I feel like with this kind of games the world feels too huge for me and my tasks get out of sight. But hey! Now you know which kind of games you enjoy. You don´t know if you never try :)

I´ll definitely update you with that. I´m lowkey hyped to play Hello Kitty hehehe 8-)

Oh thank You. I can keep yours in my prayers too. :D I'm trying to be gentle with mine too, but I also have faith it can handle me after all these years!

Basically, yes! Also I have extremly strong doubts that anything I'd buy today would hold half the time this laptop does... Also it scares me to think how much I'd need to pay to get something on the same, relative, power level as this one was in its days... (And the whole intel thing doesn't help...)

True, but also every dlc is someone's first dlc... And it also preys on people's sense of completion, particularily those with neurodivergence, and let's face it - on children (with less of a grip on money and economics) :x

Yeah, yeah it is, but it also has genuine mmo gringing mechanics (even though it's a sinle player...). And I know what You mean about open world (though it's not that "open" as You'd think, You needed in fact to unlock each area, and just walk there like in Elder Scrolls). I think my problem with Inquistion, and similar titles, is that all those activities are pretty shallow and extremely repetitive, and cutting them out wouldn't change the game. And specifically about this title - for some reason all the plot-related (conflict-related) choices were binary, even though it was clear that either side was fully in the right, and You as the main character represented a suppose "disturbance" to that power struggle, yet could not propose any meaningful solutions ! A.k.a. the script was heavily lacking, to the degree that it didn't feel like role-play, neither as your character, nor as a coherent prescribed one, like a witcher, allan wake, or something :/
Also apparently the original edition was published with the ending chapter, which was added as a dlc... (because it was published by EA). Though that wasn't my problem, cause a) I buy games in at least game of the year edition and b) I never got thar far in the first place...
Yeah, that turned into a game review, haven't it?

I mean yes, You are right, I've leant a lot and I saved lots of money by not buying games in the last 10 years  but also there are cool RPGs with semi open world and it pains me to see them push to side for the empty cash grabs EA and Activision are putting instead. :(
Rant over, I promise. And, while to proven by the text above, I'm actually doing fine. I think I even have an idea or two for a painting. And You?
I'll be waiting for the updates then, also those about Hello Kitty! ^^

I totally get your concern. I heard that companies build cheap elements in their products so they‘ll break faster. People would‘ve to buy a replacement way faster. More profit. Well :ehmeh::

Up to this point most of my electronic stuff is in a good condition (I guess). We‘ll see how long it‘s going to live. Now we‘re getting there again.. let‘s pray for their stability and longevity again

Right! Good point! Kids are an important target group that we shouldn’t get out of sight here! I‘m excited to see how‘s Sims 5 gonna especially because it has competition.. did you hear about inZOI? It‘s also a simulation game and there‘s a demo released. It has a lot of opportunities to offer and an open world. Dunno how it‘s gonna be but EA definitely needs competition! I also saw some indie studio creating similar life simulation. It remains exciting!

Haha I actually just guessed what kind of micro–transactions b*llsh** they offered in the mobile game

I never played Sims on my phone but I‘m generally not that much into mobile games. The last one I really played actively was Animal Crossing Pocket Camp. But it became way to repetitive. But it‘s a good thing you can purchase it for 10€ and then enjoy it without ads and micro–transactions. I think companies should do that way more often! I get sick so easily with all of those ads

Do you have Steam? That‘s the thing that is bothering me for example. I have so much stuff I want to play but first of my laptop wouldn’t handle everything and second, I don‘t wanna sit on a chair I just wanna chill while playing games. So I always miss good discounts and Switch games mostly have a stable price depending on the studio

Nah it‘s okay! You can rant and feel good at the same time! I get that I feel the same
Not at all haha. I‘m trying to get into dancing again and regularly doing dance workouts. I didn‘t do it for a week. Besides that I‘m into playing DS games again and end of last week I purchased one for only 11€ and I enjoy it so far. It’s cozy and chill :D

What are those painting ideas?

Yeah besides that I feel okay. The last days were horrible because I had no time for myself. I‘m introverted and need time for myself so my battery is slowly rising again. But I‘m fine

I though that Sims 5 was cancelled... Yeah, I've heard about it, but I'm not into genAI and from what I remember they were using it for, at least, patterns. I know there was also that project, called something like "paralives". I don't know if it's still going though...

To be honest I don't know if competion is enough. Personally, I would go with all-religions exorcisms and whole board replacement with people from dev teams... for the beginning...

Oh I played Pocket Camp too. I liked fishing in that game. Untill after one update, it just didn't want to log me in and that was that...

Actually I do. I usually play some dress up game, till something starts bothering me too much, then go on pause and find something new. :D Also occasionally sudoku :D
From time to time I'm also play Harvest Moon. I got it as an relaxing farming sim and then learnt that I'm doing that title wrong. :cloud:
And how about You, do You play any more titles?

It was so simplistic, it felt unnatural. Both sides were pretty much dumb, think "mcu civil war", and You couldn't stay neutral, or just partially agreeing with either side...

Yes and no. I have an account, but I need to use my partners PC to use it, as Steam stopped being supported on my laptop. (Though in all fairness I rather use gog nowadays...).
I understand You completly :( And yeah, I've heard that Nintendo doesn't realky belive in sales or discounts  but I'm glad to hear You've still managed to grab something for DS ^^ What titles do You play then? And what dance routines do You do?

Bit silly, but I found a great photo of a delapidated building, and there is something very interesting in architectual decay, that I want to try to catch with paints  The other is an image of gualish deity, but I don't have that finalised in my head yet, nor can I find good reference images, so it'll need to wait.

Hope You've had some time to recharge a bit then. Yeah, social engagments are seriously tiring, I feel You!
