@Juleic- same, I'd rather delete every single other file on my tablet, but not the animal pics. They always make me feel better, more cheerful. Even the ones documenting the destruction they've caused. I suppose they are the cutest and most cherished.

Oh, give her big hug again.

As for my cat, he just ate a fly, so there is that. He eats pretty normally, though is bit more picky than usual. Thing is, I am leaving on Sunday, so I don't want that to add to the situation. :(

@Alexarion- in all fairness, I guess there are very few places where You would be getting more snow than rain now  Oh that's a pity it was gone so fast (maybe not objectively, in a larger perspective, but on a personal one You all should be able to enjoy it for few hours in peace).

If I could really have a choice, I would go for real beeswax, cause they smell nice, but don't cause headaches. And yeah, I'd rather have a very lightly scented candles, or unscented ones, cause I like to have them going for hours and the scent builds up. Which funny enough means I usually go for cheaper ones...
And how about You? I guess if You are blessed with a normal head, You can enjoy the more scented ones. :D

Yeah, I know what You mean, I am on my way of ascending into librarian. Mainly cause instagram finally started targeting me with ads for books, I'd actually want to read. (To fight that, I am clicking from time to time on ads I know I have no interest in, to hopefuly confuse it ;) ) And I don't even have tiktok...
But on a more serious note, it is terrifying how these apps are pushing overconsumption over any creative pursuits.

What kind of hats (what material) are You envisioning? And what kind of flowers?
Ghosts are definitely an all year round decoration.

Sad reality  Or should I be happy like: We all suffer together because we don´t see much snow?

I definitely did! You know, I´m this kind of person who doesn´t go out with her in-ear headphones. Also because I live in the city. Here´s much traffic. But some days ago when it was snowing, I put them off to enjoy it. Enjoying the sound it makes when I walk in the snow, the silence, the whole atmosphere. It was truly beautiful! in_love_

I can relate with the headaches. I´m not that sensitive when it comes to scents but I tend to get neck pain and stuff. Like a year ago I was always like: No scented candles. But after a friend of mine always lighted them on when I was at her place, I really liked it.

That´s such a good idea! I want to live more minimalistic but I also have to see the facts in front of me. Even since a kid I love collecting. Back then it was stickers and figures and now physical games and manga. I love to have a collection. But I try to only buy things I know that I´ll read or play it several times. Can´t help it
I thankfully never got into TikTok but I have Youtube and Instagram.

I use air dry clay. I can knead it into the shape I want. It´s kinda like dough you know :)
I thought about a simple flower. Maybe a daisy or something. Or a tulip. It´ll be small so it should be simple.

Maybe it wouldn't be depressing, but if I was seeing the same amount of snow, to that of rain, that would be scary :D

Oh that's nice. Do You have favourite scents then?
I'm not that sensitive generally, but it gets overwhelming, if they burn too long.

What manga titles do You collect?

I admire your ability to knead such clay, I tried, but couldn't get it to get plastic. What brand/kind do You use then?
Tulips are definitely spring flowers and You can experiment with various shapes, depending on the kind :) Though daisies are also really cute!
Once in open air museum, they invited a woman, who was master crafter of local, traditional (and disappearing) paper flowers technique. She made me a whole, small bouquet. They're bit discolourated now, but I still have them. Maybe that's something, that could interest You too?

@juleic- it seems I wasn't that paranoid. The other cat got sick, but he seems to be getting better now.

I see! Same. Especially if windows and doors are closed for a long time and candles are burning, I get headaches too. I think my favorite is strawberry and in general fresh scents, lavender. You? :)

My heart beats for Shoujo Manga and cheesy love stories. Right now I´m more into Manwha, Korean Manga.
My favorites are: Villains are destined to die and Not-Sew-wicked Stepmom. I just love ironic and strong female protagonists in_love_ When it comes to Manga, I´m totally in love with Smoking Behind the Supermarket. A little bit more unusual "love story" and very slow-paced but it´s cute!

How about you?

You mean you had difficulties to make it firmly? For the most stuff I made (little figures with not much details) I used air-dry clay from the brand Craft ID. Important is to not use too much water. I definitely use it to smooth my figures out or for example to put an arm to it. And if you´re going for specific figures it´s helpful to build the base out of aluminium-foil for example so you´ve a solid and firmly base. So you just have to build the clay around then.

Right now I´m crafting a jewelry peel for my sister and a cat phone holder for myself. I figured, more expensive clay works better here. Sadly there seems to be no separate defintion in English :ehmeh:: So for simple stuff, I buy air dry clay (like 500g) for 3 euro. For more detailed stuff I buy clay between 7-10 euro. It´s firmer and you can work with it better. Only disadvantage is that it needs more time to dry. 4 days. The cheap one: 2 days.

Sorry for the long talk here

Oh I never heard of that! Sounds a bit like origami but like bigger and more complex. Sure looks amazing! There are so many way how to build nice flowers in general. You could also use some wire and gel nail polish. The possibilites are endless /flowerpower/

Btw. I hope your cat feels better now! /flowerpower/

Strawberry is nice. ^^ I generally gravitate towards fruity scents, or something sweet like rose or vanilla (assuming they're not too strong). But I'm not a fan of heavy scents like musk, oud, cedar, ect.

I don't think "smoking behind the supermarket" is published here, but then again, I actually don't really read romance :ehmeh::
"Villain are destined to die" is going to have it's premier here within few weeks, so I will keep it in mind. Though it is interesting how much more expensive it is compsred to manga.
Personally, slice of life and fantasy are my picks, which on recent time have a bit of resurgance here, so after nearly a decade, I feel spoiled for choice again. Though, I wish there were more shoujo of these genres published too.
Right now my main reads are "old man and a cat" and "frieren", but they finally picked up "dungeon meshi", which makes me happy ^^.

I don't know why, but I though You ment polimer clay. :ehmeh:: but generally speaking I've troubles with all types of clay, cause my hands are like a sponge for moisturecand even fats... still thank You for tips! Maybe one day I'll have more luck...
Also, thanks for the long talk! I find it all very fascinating! Also, that's plenty of projects to carry!

I don't know if it's more complex, but it is bit different (I will try to take a photo of them). And thanks, I'll, at least, think about it ^^

He sems to be doing much better! Thank You :D

Yeah Manhwas are really expensive. The book format is bigger compared to manga and the sides are all with color.
I can really recommend Villains are destined to die because the focus is a bit different and the story is more about finding out a secret you could say but I believe you can read it online too 🙏

Interesting how different tastes can be. Fantasy isn‘t my kind of genre. But I do enjoy Slice of Life with the main focus on the relationship between the characters, development, psychology.

Old man and a cat sounds really heart warming! I think I‘ll check it out /flowerpower/

Oh please do! I‘d like to see them!

Sounds good. I hope both of you stay healthy! /flowerpower/

Ugh, I hope it won't be that big, I already don't like the a5 mangas. (Unless they'd be some collector's edition, though then I'd mind a4... Like anything made by CLAMP should get such editions, or at least b5).
Do You mean that manhwas are all colour like a comic book? Interesting. I though that the price difference (at least here) is the result of licencing and translation cost.

Yeah, that's why it'd be nice if publishers would be open to introducing varied genres and titles. I gave up hoping that "ascention of the bookworm" would ever get localisation here, and buying either light novel or manga in English, when it's more than 3 tomes is just too expensive... (though I might get "12 kingdoms" new translation...).

"Old man and the cat" is sweet, but don't count on a plot in the first two or three tomes. The author started writting it as just vignettes about the interactions between the two title characers and only after getting good responses and publishing deal, they decided on giving the story some direction.

Oh gosh, it's so much fun to talk with someone about books and manga! ^^ Thank You for that!

Thank You. /flowerpower/

Oh you mean even the A5 manga feel too big for you? I can´t quite tell which format Manwha have. Definitely bigger than A5 at least. And yeah they´re bit more hard to hold because they´re heavier. I can deal with it I like the colors and the art style in_love_  I guess you suffer for the things you enjoy  Yes they are! The quality of the colors are great in_love_

Definitely! Sometimes you start an Manga or Anime and feel like you saw specific story elements or stereotypes/endings or even plottwist anywhere else. A lot of stuff nowadays feels so predictible. Maybe producers are afraid of trying out something new?

So you mean more than 3 copies/volume? Manga, things in general got expensive over the last decade. Especially because nowadays Manga and Anime are mainstream. I remember back in my teenage years, I was the weird Anime kid and now it´s "cool". So..I was already cool before the hype 8-)
Funfact btw: I think Anime is what motivated me to actually learn English. I mean it was always an easy subject for me in school but back then, there wasn´t much German translation, only English sub. I was like:"Damn.. that´s too complex. Don´t understand a thing. Okay let´s seriously learn English

Correct me if I´m wrong but I was a bit surprised while googling it because it looked more cartonic than I thought

I enjoy it too. Btw. I looove your Web Avatar /flowerpower/

Sorry for being bit confusing with my replies
To be honest the size is more a storing issue. I have shelf in perfect "standard" manga size, and when publishers make them bigger, I can't put them there!

I generally wonder if that's the case, or if they assume, that there is only "one kind of reader" interested in "one kind of story", or if they got lazy in their work and uninterested in looking for different things. Perhaps it's a combination of factors, and maybe some financial ones too (like higher licencing costs of titles coming from different japanese publishing houses?).

I meant that if it's a longer series, like more than 1-5 volumes, it's too much of financial commitment. Like imagine importing One Piece from USA... financial ruin! :D

It definitely got more expensive here too, though it still is reasonable. Though yeah, back in the day it was bit more expensive than an average magazine, and now it's closer to a paperbag book.
Also I can't imagine ever getting such a deal, as I did with Sailor Moon back in early 2000s. I've got the entire series for about 1,5 - 2 euros per volume, all new. But that was because a really cool bookstore went out of business and another, nearby one took their stock. Thing is, that other bookstore maonly sold religious publications. :D So they put all the mangas in the furthest, smallest niche they had, in the back of the shop, and put the price as close to "for free" as they could, just to get rid of them as fast as they could, not to spook their regular customers.

Which one? 12 kindoms or the cat? If the cat, then maybe, though I never thought about it...

I'm glad and thank You. See, being, let's say, "over 25", I still don't know that many people reading manga. And I stil feel rather silly going to manga section, or store, as they are usually occupied by teens :ehmeh::

It did? Oh that's so interesting! Was it still in the times of Yt uploads and "odd" anime websites? :D
For me it was probably the other way around, as I think that it was these uploads and fan translations, that helped me learn English (don't pay attention to my spelling, it's a combination of dyslexia, annoying keyboard and lack of spell-check :ehmeh:: ).
Btw I kinda miss those translations, cause the people who made them actually cared, so they included translations of anything written on screen, like roadsigns, or letters (netflix!) and footnotes explaing culture, ect. You could genuinely learn from that, right?

Aw, thank You! Yours is so cute too! /flowerpower/
