This is my area of expertise, I had this exact same error with Winx Adventure last year.

Basically, someone made something wrong and changed the configuration to access the database. The web server is trying to "talk" to the database (access to the website and all it's tables like users, videos, pages..) but the database isn't being found or responding. That usually means their connection to the database is misconfigured. If they changed the password to access the database for example, then that's all it takes to glitch access to everything else.

So yeah — the backend can't access the database, so the site can't load content properly. They probably just need to restart MySQL or fix the socket/host settings. Nothing major, but it’ll stay broken until someone with server access handles it. I don't think that will be that soon, considering the website has been abandoned in all versions, including the italian.
They did promise they would update the website to the reboot, that much is confirmed. But I would lower my expectations, I'm not sure much will remain in the website, look at all their new websites. Mermaid Magic has nothing... if they follow that trend...

I wouldnt say completelly abandoned though. We did get 2024 and 2025 calendars on official website xD

As for Mermaid Magic we'll see, at least they have youtube cchannel, just like how Pop Pixie got it's official youtube channel around 2 years ago

It did look like a server bug, but I assumed it was not neccesary on rainbow's side... and I know this kind of things can also happen when the web is unattended (or also hacked - that one I've unfortunately seen), that's why I got worried. So thanks for the detail info in regards to that! ^^

I suppose it could also be a sign they are updating it and messing with the code before releasing new version, right?
Me not likie them not carrying for their IPs sites, me thinks relying on social media alone is silly, but me thinks me a dodo...


@LilacOdango - thanks for the info, it does work for me too. I'm glad they didn't find it an obselete relic of the past, even if they don't update it with as they do with their social media...
