Yeah, choosing a hair color is really difficult... I was deciding between blonde and pink, but blonde isn't available in many hairstyles, and the pink shade is too bright... What a tough life we have!

I remember that moment with Tecna very well because when I was 10, I set a screenshot of this moment as my profile picture on VK. It's like Facebook, so my classmates, my older sister, all my friends saw it LMAO  I don't know what I was thinking, but at least I was truly open and sincere in my love for Tecna
I even have a screenshot from 2011... THIS was my avatar

IKRrr all those moments when the Specialists were trying to adapt to life on Earth were hilarious!!😭
I was almost in tears when they couldn't open the car to repair it despite being so confident at first. And that moment when they were driving like crazy, and Helia said "I think these signs mean something..." about the traffic signs   And my absolute favorite moment: when Roxy's dad messed up the specialists' names. I still wonder why he called Helia "Tobias" or something like that... :?

My own challenge is to watch all seasons so I can call myself a Winx expert! :ugeek:  No, but seriously, I really want to know what everyone else who watched it is talking about. And I want to have the full right to hate those seasons! Though, who knows, maybe I'll end up liking them...
But realistically I'm afraid that when I watch these seasons, I'll feel like I'm watching Peppa Pig... Not that I have anything against Peppa Pig... But it's going to be hard to watch. Especially considering that even at 12, I couldn't finish Season 5 (when it first came out). And Season 5 was probably just a warm-up compared to what comes next...
No, we can do this, I believe in us! :x
By the way, Season 8 scares me the most. :? I found out about Icy's backstory from Season 8 just a few months ago, and it felt so... made up out of nowhere? :?

I think maybe it's for the best that I prefered some songs in Italian... I listened to Only a Girl after your message, and I have no idea how to hear it without bursting into tears every time you catch the lyrics   It's one of my favorite songs too! in_love_  I also feel like the instrumental version played in Winx Adventure, but maybe I'm mixing something up

I love the S1-3 background music very very much too! I downloaded many of these soundtracks to my phone! And even set Daphne's theme from Bloom's dreams as my alarm ringtone   (unfortunately, no dreams with Daphne so far :( )
I think I actually like many battle songs, Red Fountain theme, songs from episode with waterstars and the Golden Kingdom... But without doubt fairy dust themes are my absouletly favorite ones... they're soooo magical  every time I hear it, it feels like it teleports me back to my childhood 💔

Now I'm thinking about how not too long ago, the creators of one iconic russian children's animated series from 00s released a few albums with full background soundtracks. And it was specifically aimed at adult fans who grew up with this music. I really wish Rainbow would do the same with Winx… :(

Some of my other favorite songs: La mia canzone, Mambochiwambo (I loooove this whole beach aesthetic //MWOMWO" ), Sciogliero / Sun will rise (I feel like it's so emotional that you can understand it in any language!), Winx Combat Power (I think it perfectly captures the atmosphere of Season 1 and the essence of Winx in general), all songs from season 3: I Won't Ask for More, Never Be Alone, I'm Crazy For You, We're Back Again... It's just a shame that they're all so short!

From Magical Adventure, I especially love Big Boy, Fatto Apposta Per Me and Supergirls... But honestly, I love all the songs from that movie because they remind me of good times. :( I think I love all the songs from Season 4 for the same reason. We'll be together, You are the one that I want, Winx open up your heart... btw the male vocals turned out to be surprisingly fitting and refreshing back then!

I also feel like just judging by the songs you can really tell how much money Rainbow put into Season 4. Do you feel the same watching Season 4 now? :geek:
All those amazing designer outfits, tons of new characters and locations... I get that by that time, Rainbow was already aiming to make more profit (releasing tons of different dolls in various outfits, pet toys, etc.) and continued the series mainly for the money, it was pretty obvious. But I can't deny that they really put effort into Season 4. No season before or after received that level of investment.

Wait, I'm still not done with my favorite songs… As a kid I used to listen to Winx Power Show album, and my favorite songs from it were Siamo Noi le Winx and Non C’è Amore. And if you haven't listened the second one, I highly recommend it! It's super Trix coded! (well, in the show it's literally Trix's song) rockparty//

And you're soo right, it's always when I JUST ABOUT to buy something it goes out of stock. :cloud:  You're definitely not alone with this!
Oh I think uni days are one of the most exhausting periods in life, despite all the good things in them... Wishing you luck with it and lots of strength ::sleep::

oh no my post is too long haha sorry if my thoughts are a bit scattered
but I have so much fun talking about Winx with you /flowerpower/ I started slowly getting back into Winx about two years ago and for a long time I had no one to talk to about everything I rediscovered these past couple of years :geek: I'm really happy that I can finally reconnect with Winx fans and discuss everything (EVERYTHING!!1  ) here on the forum

Awww thank you so much! Image

Now we finally understand why Stella's life is always so stressful  She need to make this kind of hard decisions DAILY! :o

Awww your avatar was SO adorable!! :ahhh: It's just so cute that you used it! /flowerpower/ I remember some anime lovers at my school used to have anime characters as their profile photo on facebook when they were teenagers and I always thought they're super cool because they're brave to share their interests so publicly. I was just about to say that only my friends and family knew I was Winx fan when I was a teenager but then I realized that actually I made a presentation about Winx Club in junior high school! I thought there's no subject I'd know more about than Winx

Yeah Helia wondering the meaning of the traffic signs is just too adorable and hilarious at the same time!! And when they were so confident and then messed up everything...  Roxy's dad is also a legend. I also laughed at him when he forgot the names. And it's so funny when Roxy is always embarrassed because of him  I'm on a short vacation so I've continued watching the 4th season and laughed when Roxy's dad said so strictly to Riven "I pay you for working, not for dancing" when Riven tried to get Musa's attention while she was singing on the stage

I feel you, we're so true Winxers :geek: I want to know everything about Winx so I need to watch even those seasons I'm not a so big fan of. And then we can go to the unpopular opinions -thread and make a list of all of the things we dislike on them  But I understand your Peppa pig feelings... I start to miss the golden seasons just at the moment when I start watching the newer seasons. I was positively surprised how much I liked the 4th season after all of these years but even though I like the magical pets I'm a bit annoyed by them because they're so noisy and restless all the time //EHDOHEH/ The fairy pets in Alfea felt more elegant! And I'm afraid the newer seasons might feel even more restless :ehmeh:: I remember that I actually liked the 5th season when it aired in Finland but I've tried to re-watch it a couple of times and I haven't managed to re-watch it. But at least the Sirenix song is a banger! But after finishing the re-watch of the 4th season I will continue and watch all of the seasons no matter what!! We can do it!! rockparty//

I'm also afraid of the 8th season. I dislike the art style because the specialists look like kids :ehmeh:: I'm always interested in backstories of the characters but because Icy is so cool (pun intended  ) I want the backstory to be convincing and not to "ruin" the character. Because in so many movies they explain that this and this character became evil because someone stole their dear toy when they were a kid or something as silly as that which completely ruins the characters imago. Like, not everyone become evil because of a little disappointment in their childhood, some are born evil and that's what makes them so interesting because they have so different kind of brain and values than the most of us!! So I've been interested in getting to know about Icy's past but I've been avoiding of getting to know it because I afraid too much that I get disappointed! :ehmeh:: So I haven't still even read about her past but I come here to cry and complain after I've managed to finish the season 8

Yeah I need to be a very specific state of mind when I listen to Only a girl because if I listen it on my way to school I might start to cry  /flowerpower/ And noe when you mentioned Sciogliero, ohhh it's also so beautiful and iconic!! I get so emotional when Winxs travel to the destroyed, icy and mystical Domino  /flowerpower/ I'm so mad that I can't find it or many of the 1-3s soundtrack on spotify (luckily they're on youtube!)

Mambochiwambo gives me so many memories: when I was at my grandma's place and my aunt has just got a new phone with internet connection (and that was super cool back then when we didn't have smart phones yet) and she went to youtube to search some Winx videos to me and then I saw the Mambochiwambo video for the first time and I was so mesmerized because I haven't seen it before!! /flowerpower/

Thank you so much for listing your favorite songs, now I need to add them on my youtube Winx playlists because there're so many of them which are not on spotify and I have forgotten to add to any lists!! I've been so focused on the instrumental background music of s1-3 that I've missed some true gems!! /flowerpower/

And I really feel you when you said these songs remind you of the good times!! I'm really keen on the songs whose instrumental versions where used in the minigames because they bring back so many memories  /flowerpower/

But it would really be a dream-come-true to have an official album of all of the 1-3s soundtracks and instrumental background music too!! They're just so absolutely magical!!

It's so cute you had Daphne theme as an alarm!! Also a bit hilarious that now she doesn't let anyone to sleep well: she's been waking you up, waking Bloom up in the middle of the night and then other Winxs wake up also because of Bloom's screaming

Btw thank for recommending also songs from Winx Power show!! I haven't watched any of them so the songs are all new to me, but they're on my to-do list if I manage to find versions with English subtitles. I need to come back and write my thoughts about them later, now I'm already written a new novel

Yeah now actually when you mentioned how much they put effort on the 4th season, that's... SUPER MUCH!! They also made two different nintendo ds games about the 4th season, sooo many doll lines, all of these songs and the whole website went to a whole different level with two online games (our beloved Gardenia Park and Winx Adventure  /flowerpower/ )But I'm really happy how well they managed to market the brand because those times on Winx Club Online we're unforgettable and made me even more keen on Winx so it doesn't feel like only a tv series but we also had this heart-warming community and all the games I was obsessed on /flowerpower/ I hope that the reboot would be better than the latest seasons and found bring more fans here!

And don't worry, usually it's me who can't say anything shortly enough so it's so nice to talk with you here and read your thoughts!! I'm so happy you re-found Winx again and that we found each others on the forum! /flowerpower/

Here I am with a new novel... i mean answer

Actually, I don't know how it was for you, but in Russia in the 2000s being into anime wasn't really considered "cool" and having an anime profile picture actually felt quite brave :!: :ehmeh:: In my circle, there was no such thing, but Ive heard that, unfortunately, many anime fans faced some degree of bullying because of their interests back then. :( I'm glad those times are over

It’s so sweet that you made a presentation about Winx!! in_love_
In elementary school (somewhere up to 10–11 years old) many of my classmates (well, girls only) were into Winx. Sometimes we would exchange magazines, and I even made my own Winx "magazines" (they usually had different cutouts, my drawings, and stories I came up with) and shared them with my classmates. One of those magazines even has survived to this day only because my classmate forgot about it and returned it to me many years later.

But after elementary school, the whole Winx craze faded. I still remember how I was telling something about Winx to my friend, who used to love them too, and suddenly she said "You still watch them? :| " aaand at that moment I realized that everyone had moved on, except me...

Soo, I finally started Season 5, and it's not that bad so far! But I'm disappointed about the Trix returning. Or rather I'm upset that they're back as someone's servants? again. And it looks like there's some kind of romantic line between Icy and Tritannus? Yikes...
In my dreams, if the Trix were to return, they would be as powerful as the Ancestral Witches. They'd be fully independent, insanely strong villains ready to take revenge... And I wouldn't have brought them back in Season 5, I'd have saved them at least for Season 6, so everyone would have time to really miss them... Alright, I think I've gone too far with my fantasies.

I really love your point about some people just being naturally evil! :o I feel like that's such an unpopular opinion. So many stories try to make antagonists morally grey, insisting that every act of evil is driven by some kind of reason. I mean, of course, there's always a reason, and sometimes, you know, it could just be a certain degree of psychopathy? :ehmeh:: just as you said, they have different kind of brain. But sometimes it feels like authors almost forcing us to sympathize with the antagonist coming up with these childhood traumas etc.

By the way, this thought also resonates with the song from Winx Power Show I mentioned, "Non c'è amore". I actually just recently found the translation of this song, and it turns out that the Trix sing "There's no love that can fix us" there :ahhh:

Oh, I think I understand those feelings about seeing new Winx content in childhood! I still remember the pictures I used to find using mobile internet on my old Motorola flip phone. But I can only imagine how precious it must have felt to watch a full Winx music video on a phone! :ahhh: I first saw those Winx on Concert videos on some DVD. And oh my god... I remember watching those 3D videos hundreds of times and pausing the screen whenever my beloved Tecna appeared somewhere on the backrgound in the corner (I vividly remember doing this while watching Unica). Damn, growing up in a time when there wasn't an overload of content was truly something...

That remark about Daphne is so accurate. I really hope my neighbors don't wake up because of her... my apartment has very thin walls... :?

To me it feels like the reason why Winx has so many fans (very loyal fans! :ugeek: ) up to this day is still the result of those incredible investments made in the first four seasons. It's truly a big, but well-deserved luck for Rainbow that fandom is very active even now

As for the reboot... I'm not feeling too optimistic about it. :geek: With so much content available, it's really hard to create something that can attract people, even those who remembered and loved Winx.... But at least the animation looks muuuch better than what we saw in Season 8, though I'm not a big fan of 3D overall. :geek: And I appreciate their attempt to finally move away from the path of Winx being a cartoon for little kids, but so far, it seems like they're themselves not confident enough in this decision  But then again, they're lucky to have many loyal fans who will watch it no matter what.

My attitude toward the reboot can be described as: Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst...

My attitude toward the reboot can be described as: Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst...

Here I finally am with my super belated novel, I'm sorry it took me so much time  ..Oops..

I remember that manga became popular in my class when I was about 10 years old because a new girl (who became popular) transfered to our school (and my class) and she was reading manga. Suddenly many of my class mates started reading it too and I was a bit upset because then there're more queues in manga in the library  But I don't remember people talking about manga and anime much anymore when I went to a junior high school and we became teenagers. I knew only a few students in my school who liked anime "publicbly" and talked about anime magazines and had anime girls as their profile pictures in facebook. But they were in minority indeed. But in those times people we're bullied no matter what they were into. I was bullied because I loved Lady Gaga (and I still love) and were wearing more unique clothes. I'm so glad I'm an adult now and I can choose the right people to spend time with, and people are more mature and don't judge people based on their interests!! Nowadays anime and manga is so popular in Finland that it's not a surprise anymore if someone's into them.

Ohh it's awesome that you made your own Winx magazines!! Winx has inspired so many people in_love_ I did many magazines too but not Winx related: I made stories and comics about bunnies who had super powers (they didn't have super powers until I found Winx and then suddenly they got the powers too out of nowhere   ) It's so sweet that your friend gave the magazine back to you, it must've been so nostalgic to see it /flowerpower/

And I can feel you, I experiences the same sadness when my friend told me she's not into Winx anymore and I started feeling really lonely. People tried to act in a more "mature" way when they became teenagers (actually they were even more childish because of the way they treated each other) and I just felt like I'm the only one who doesn't want to change completely into to a new person and doesn't want to abandon everything I was really into.

Haha I finished re-watching the season 5 too recently! In the beginning I was thinking too that it's not that bad but after finishing the season I can say that I enjoyed the first half of the season much more than the last. Swimming around the infinite ocean started to make me bored. I really enjoyed the art style but I had forgotten how bad the 3d animation looked like. At least it made me appreciate the reboot more  But there were interesting concepts: Sky's memory loss, Crystal, Stella turning into a kid (Brandon was so sweet when he was telling stories to baby Stella!!) Diaspro trying to ruin everything (even though I'm still mad that Sky's father hired her because... has everyone forgotten what she did in the season 3???) And Daphne being the victim of the curse of Sirenix instead of just being dead/ghost is triggering me too much. She lost all of her mystical past. :cloud: And yeah I'm so sad about how they treated the Trix. I don't like them being servants again and how the independent Icy left her sisters for Tritannus. It would've been so cool if the Trix could have pretended to be allies of Tritannus first and then left him after they got their Sirenix powers. That would fit to their characters more than being servants again because they're not st**id and I'm sure they can learn from their earlier mistakes and realize that being servants of any man is not going to end up well. At least I'm happy that the same kind of setup is not repeated in the 6th season. And having more female villains is cool!

Haha I was missing the Trix so much I was happy to see you but I understand your point: seeing them would've felt even more special if they didn't appear in the 5th season. Maybe Tritannus and Politea could've been enough. But then how could Tritannus have escaped? Maybe the Trix could have helped him to escape and then left him and went somewhere else to prepare their attack to Cloudtower in the 6th season.

Yeah I'm so fed up with symphatizing the villains. I think it's more interesting to have characters with different kind of brains! Some are psychopats, some are too kind, and that's the contrast between the characters which makes the story interesting! Like, what kind of childhood trauma could Darkar have? Someone put the light up too early when he still wanted to sleep? It'd be ridiculous to try to understand why he wants to rule the whole magical dimensions. Trying to explain this would ruin his whole character.

Wow the lyrics of the Non c'è amore sound so cool!! That's exactly what we need :ahhh: Could you link the translation please?

Awww pausing the video when you saw Tecna was so sweet and I perfectly understand you!!! /flowerpower/ I used to watch transformation sequences all over and over again and I tried to take videos of them with my iPod (because I could take videos with my iPod before I could do that with my phone :o ) and you can imagine the quality when trying to record the sounds and the screen from my computer with another device... :ehmeh:: But I really wanted to have Winx videos on my iPod  It's so cool that you had Winx in Concert dvds!! I've been thinking about getting one from Vinted since I never had it as a kid. Then I can imagine I'm a kid again and cry when I see if for the first time as an adult  /flowerpower/
Speaking of living without too much content, one of my favorite "hobbies" were just writing "Winx Club" to google image search and looking at Winx Club pictures, mesmerized, and dreaming of printing them all. I could do that for hours. This was the way I consumed art before any art books lol

Yes Rainbow knew well how to make people obsessed, not just on the show but also the games :geek:  So many memories thanks to them <3

I think the reboot as a remix song of your favorite song: the original version is always in our hearts and nothing can ever beat it, but it's interesting to see "a remix" of it. I think a good story can be told multiple times and in variated ways and I'm actually really interested to see what remains the same and what they have changed. But I feel you, I'm also a bit scared and sceptical because I'm not a fan of 3d animation in any case. I'd love to see the reboot as a drawn version. But I understand they wanted to do something new because maybe they didn't see the point of doing something which is not new enough. I'm happy the 3d animation is not as bad as in 5th season (I still haven't watched the 7th and 8th season so I can't compare to them yet). So I'm still curious and excited with a slice of pessimismim
