Oh thank You so much! /flowerpower/ Yours is really cool, with that rock-punk edge to it! ^^

Alexarion wrote:@Salomea: Thank you so much for your kind words! Means a lot! /flowerpower/

Thank you I figured that too some time ago! Because I was like..why is the top still fluid while the bottom is completely overcooked? Since I´m putting the cake more in the middle or even higher in the oven it didn´t burn :D

I try to not compare myself to others. Sometimes I just can´t help it. But I try not to /flowerpower/
Yeah sure! Let´s become drawing partners! You know like beginning of 2024 I started a Winxclub Fanart and I really like how it turned out so far. I only have to colour one character to finally finish it but for some reason I can´t start drawing and finish it :ehmeh::

:hugs:

I'm happy You've managed to find a solution with your owen! Mine from time to time burns either top or bottom without preference and I just gave up baking cakes (though cookies are it more managable). Good luck with all your future baking then! ^^

Good!
Yay! Then lets's! Ok, so how can I help You? Like, do You feel the issue lies with the scope of the picture and like You've spend already "enough" time working on it and You've reached the exhaustion treshold, after which You just don't have anything to give and where the completion won't compensate the effort? Because that's an actual thing. Or do You feel uncertain in your ideas regarding that character? Or do You think that external deadline would be something that could help? (Perphaps we should make a separate thread to discuss that?)

My day? It was ok. But I've managed to read some manga at least :D And how about You?

That sounds like a productive day to me, if I manage to do at least one thing I enjoy, it's productive already.

As for me, I've been preparing the news for the next two weeks on the website and also working on Winx Adventure. With the web avatar finally out of the way, I really wanted to focus on making the game work properly. But no luck so far... I'm at the point where I'm watching Unity tutorials from scratch. :( Honestly, I can already see myself spending money to hire a freelancer to help me out, which wasn't ideal since they can be quite expensive but... I WANT THE GAME. :x

Alexarion wrote:Thank you so much! The last days were quite rough for me I had a lot of people visiting and staying over at my place and since some hours I´m alone again like after a week. It was quite stressful but fun /flowerpower/ But I think my next birthday will be even smaller. It was too much for me :ehmeh::

Okay so what´s your favorite cake? For the cooking part: I like italian kitchen 8-)

Yeah I enjoy it so much! Everything is loading so fast and I love designing my Web-Avatar. Can´t wait for the regular updates in_love_

And I love to grind sometimes so let´s start the WX grind game 8-)

That sounds intense but also like you had some great moments at least, despite being surrounded by people  I totally get needing some peace after all that chaos, though. I love the quiet. :)

As for cake, I’d say I’m a sucker for chocolate cake—classic but never fails. :cake:

Italian cuisine? You got me there considering my favorite food is literally my mother's pasta. 8-)

I’m so glad you’re loving the web avatar feature and how fast everything is now. Seeing everyone’s designs is so nice! in_love_

You are really determined! But maybe You could ask around for help. Maybe someone in the forum can help You?
Also good luck with your CVs.

BTW what happen with the k-drama club? Don't tell me I dreamed it...

I'm not sure :( I really want help but working on the game is giving full access to the entire website and that is risky, but I'll give it some thought. :ehmeh::

As for the kdrama club, I moved it to the trash area after a few hours. The reason for it is because a lot of the kdramas I watch and watched, that I even wanted to add my entire watchlist, are for 13+ and show some "visual" scenes or blood, that goes completely against the rules. So I spent the entire night after creating the topic chewing on if it'd be a good idea to keep the topic up.

Some of the kdramas, like the one I recommended for example, are 100% suited for people 10 and above in story, but it still begins with a murderer and some dead people being found, so imagine a kid seeing that because they saw the name here. :ehmeh::

But I'd love to have a kdrama section somewhere, not going to lie. I watch so many.

Oh I‘m sorry. Yeah must feel pretty depressing when cakes turn out burned no matter what you do :ehmeh:: /flowerpower/

I can‘t tell what it is. Maybe it even is the „how to start“ that I‘m struggling with? The fanarts is nearly finished. Two from three characters are done. There‘s only one missing and I only have to put the paint on it and shades. That‘s it. I always want to finish one piece before going to the next so it feels hard to just draw something else. I don‘t like unfinished drawings :ehmeh::

I could open an Anti Art Block thread where we artists give each other tips and motivation how to deal with it!

Yeah I definitely had! And tomorrow my family is visiting! Second party haha  I feel like the older I get the more space and time for myself I need. I feel like getting more sensitive. I mean I always felt like needing more time to rest from social interactions than others but I feel like it got more over the last years. Maybe Corona plays a part :ehmeh::

Feel that! Since I moved out like. 3 1/2 years ago I appreciate my mothers food even more! in_love_

Same! I love to see everyone expressing themselves

Hmm I mean when you sign in you‘ve to write down your birthday with year right? Why not making a specific 18+ area? Only Users 18 years old or above have access to it. Guests can‘t see the topic either. Yeah, there might be kids who may trick the system but you can‘t have your eyes everywhere so this might be a solution?

Ok, I get how that could be an issue. But on the other hand, can You have someone review your code, or assist You with some issues without getting full web access? Like having only access to a hidden section (something like mods thread) where You could talk and share files, while maybe running the test game separately from the site? And of course that assumes that anyone here can help...

Can You maybe put info that the club is 13+ or put info about age restrictions of each show next to it. Plus including the trigger warnings, since that could be useful too. I think that sharing interest in such wide topic shouldn't be of the table because some titles might not be for everyone. Btw by that logic Winx Club: the saga is banned too, yes?
(Plus it gets into some uncomfortable territory. Like if I say I'm reading "Maus", or Kafka's "Process" and they are good because such and such, in the book club, out of line, cause in some places these are over 13 readings?)

But I also second Alexarion, that perhaps there could be a +18 section (and if there were more young people also separate under 16 section). And on unrelated note - just letting You know I've put random "over 25" year number  cause I don't like putting my real year, for security, but You I am over 25, cause You know my long enough and I didn't think more precision is needed... sorry...

Luckily not depressing, just bit annoying  And luckily I'm usually able to save whatever bake good I was trying to make :D

Is it traditional, or digital? If digital, maybe make a copy file and assume it's not the final version, and just do for it being experimental and even sloppy?
Yeah, good idea. Maybe it could be in club area or in gallery, cause who knows, maybe soneone else would also find us helpful.

if you're family's visiting then it sounds like the perfect reason to celebrate twice, let's go another round of brownies and party gifts

And I completely get what you mean, the pandemic probably amplified that. My social anxiety was at its worst during that time, that's actually when a lot of things happened to me. I lost 3 of my best friends that I met in this website during that time when my anxiety was even making me not feeling like talking to them (although it really wasn't what caused our drift, but that would be a story for another day). That's the one time I really started taking pills and even had soft depression diagnosed, very early stages of it. It's all gone now though. /houra// I mean, it's not gone, gone, I feel residues of this anxiety in me, but the depression is and so is the way I used to act back then, it takes a lot for me to be unresponsive and unable to answer so that's good

As for the idea of an 18+ area, I can see where you’re coming from, but I think keeping the forums open and inclusive is part of the magic of the website. :ehmeh:: The forums were a place where we could talk about anything and everything (within reason, of course), and that made it special for me. It wasn’t about locking certain topics away but allowing every single one of us, a community, where everyone could participate and connect.

The reality now is that the rules have changed for children’s websites as well, even fan-made ones like this can't escape. I have to be cautious to ensure there’s no exposure to things like violence, profanity, or anything else that could cause issues. It’s not ideal, but it’s a responsibility I take seriously to protect everyone involved now that as a kid was nowhere on my mind back then and could even get me in trouble honestly if something ever happened.

However.........

The Fate: The Winx Saga was a very, very good call. I haven't even thought about it, but it literally falls on that sort of category exactly like kdramas. I can't exactly "force" a lock on subforums to appear after people are +18. I could in theory create a script for it, but I'd have to create a brand new group for users registering and being under 18, recreate the web avatar script for that group, allow them to get the same permissions as a normal user but without the +18 section and then force the script to change the user script once they become +18 to change the group to the normal one. That would take me ages, and it also involves changing the registration script and then the login box to force already registered users into being sent back to another group.

So, I'd say......... I'd make a "PG +13" or "+13 | " in the topic title, and adjust the rules in both here, Chata, and also Fan Club I guess? And make sure it would involve shows, movies or games and not necessarily anything else outside of it.

I can't. It's very unofortunate but I really can't. :( The game is 100% working. The only thing that isn't and the reason why the game isn't already being at least beta tested is because the registration script is broken, which is what connects the game and your accounts by creating the player avatar in-game. So it's actually the connection to the website and your own accounts that is glitched. The person that would fix it would have to have access to your database accounts and the entire game. :?

That's why I feel like someone who works on the industry would probably be a safer bet. I'd do backups of everything and everything and by the end of this, simply change the passwords to access the databases.

Nice! So you found your way to handle it 8-)

It´s digital. That´s sounds hard. I´m a perfectionist. I can´t just ruin my artwork. Even if it´s just a copy. But right now I´m focusing more on myself in general, less social media and I think it´ll take some time but I hope it helps me to get back my motivation for drawing. Right now I ´m just not in the mood.

You´re laughing but on that day I was actually thinking about making another round of brownies
Nobody can say no to self-made brownies.

I´m sorry that you had to go through such a hard time. But seems like in the end it made you stronger. You can be proud of yourself /flowerpower/ I totally feel and get what you mean and I feel like I´m in this exact position you were before.
My mental state one year ago was so messed up I couldn´t even stand up. It takes a lot of time to effort but I´m trying my best to get out of depression as well. It maybe would be easier if I´d take pills but idk I don´t feel like taking them. I heard bad stories from people I know. It sure helps but I want to try to get out of this on my own and if I really think there´s nowhere else to go then I´m gonna take pills. I definitely see a lot of improvement in my health! But it´s still a long way to get forward.

I got diagnosed with recurrent depression and I know it´ll never go away. But seeing your perspective and your way of dealing with it gives me hope. I hope the topic isn´t too sensitive or a trigger. I know this should be a happy place for everybody and I don´t want to go into details so.. I hope it´s okay :ehmeh::
---

I totally understand your point of view! And you´re absolutely right. If I´d be admin I´d probably do the same as you do. Better be safe

Your message is really touching, and I just want to say that I truly admire your strength and determination. :) It takes so much courage to fight through depression, especially when choosing to do it without medication. My medication was for my anxiety, because my depression was actually a product of how anxious everything made me feel, so it wasn't exactly the "same thing", that's why I was diagnosed with very "soft" depression, because my anxiety would lead me to cry and feel too depressed to do anything other than staying in bed for a while and cry over stressful situations. I know someone with depression and they also have bad stories of those pills itself. The ones I took was mostly to regulate my stress, which ended up helping me subconsciously getting better. I started feeling relaxed when talking to others and when they ended, I just realized I kept feeling the same way so there was no need to continue. But I do feel that slight anxiety again, very soft, lurking around now, so I do feel like I'm slightly worse. But nothing remotely similar to me in 2020-2021.

What matters most is finding a path that works for you, whether it's therapy, support from loved ones, or just taking things one step at a time. You should be really proud of yourself though. Mental health is very important and it seems like you really understand how you feel.

I don't advise to comment on this on a very deep level just because it might put other users down if they ever get curious to read it in the future, but I don't think there's a problem into mentioning these. Know that you have a big support group over here! zao_zao
