I'm currently reading Blood of Tyrants, the eighth book from the Temeraire series, and if you have not read Temeraire yet, you should. It's the Napoleonic wars, but what if there were dragons. I didn't think I would love it so much but I plowed nthrough the first book and have been obsessed ever since, it's so so good! The author is Naomi Novik and she also wrote Uprooted which is one of my favourite books of all time.

I tend to love fantasy and sci-fi and I'm v open to recs xD

I'm currently reading A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini.

Hi and sure :)

So what is it about? And what genre is it?

Honestly fascinating that anyone could make that historic period interesting! I definitely remember Naomi Novik name, though I didn't feel pulled by whichever book I was browsing through...
How many books in series there are/going to be?

I'm currently reading Jane Austin's Persuasion. It goes very slowly, cause the font is poppyseed size...

It's a dramatic book set during the taleban invasion in Afghanistan. I just finished it a couple days ago and almost cried at the end. XD
I also finisched Kafka's Metamorphosis yesterday, actually. It took about two our to read is being it under 100 pages. :hihi:

Now I'm about to begin Siddhatra (hope I wrote it right). It was gifted from a friend hihi.
I'm also reading the manga Drama Queen. I just read the last chapter they released and waiting for the new one in two weeks.

I'm reading quite a lot lately. XD

Oh, it does sound like a heavy read indeed. I can understand crying.

Yeah, Metamorphosis is short read. An odd one, but a short one! How did You like it?

I had a very interesting experience with Siddhartha. I sat down by my sis desk, to read first page and see if I want to borrow the book from her. I sat down and rose up an hour or so later after I read it through. Didn't put it down, look away, or have my mind wander. Just went through entire book in one go. I'll be curious as to your impressions of it.

I've finally finished "Persuasion". It's an extreme slow-burn, but it's great character study and societal observation.
Right now I'm reading "V is for venom. Agatha Christie's chemicals of death" and I'm loving it. Though I'm not sure what does it says about me... :ehmeh::

I liked Metamorphosis. I really related to Samsa tbh, and I think a lot of people do. XD

I also finished Siddhartha and I almost cried somehow? :ehmeh::
I really enjoyed it, mostly because I'm really into spirituality, philosophy and such.

I also have another book from Hesse that talks about India and how he was inspired to write Siddhartha.
I might start it.

Nice to hear You related with those books. ^^

I also really resonated to the philosophical ideas of Siddhartha. Have a nice read of other Hesse books then. I gave one of his novels to my sis, and then she went through all of his works (that's how I read Siddhartha ;) ). I would be curious, if You go on similar journey with Hesse's work. I think Steppenwolf is another very popular one (and I think the one I've got my sister).
