Interview with the winner!

Hello HalloWinx participants!

After an incredible Halloween-themed contest full of creativity and magical designs (some of them quite spooky!), we’re thrilled to introduce you to the winner, AsamiBrynn!

And now, it's time to interview the contest winner!

1. Congratulations on winning the HalloWinx contest, AsamiBrynn! When did you first start drawing, and what inspired you to begin?

Hello everyone and thanks for warm congratulations! I started to draw when I was ten, mostly because I wanted to show my friend how season four of Winx looked! She didn't have internet back then, so I was just trying to share what I knew. After a short while, I realized I actually loved drawing, and it took me into my teenage years to realize that I wanted to entangle my life with it.

2. What inspired you to create these Halloween-themed outfits for the Winx fairies? Did you have a particular look or vibe in mind?

That's a tricky question, haha! I really like the tradition of cosplays for Halloween, and it made me think I would like to see some Winx in costumes that people usually wear on such occasions.

3. Are you happy with how the final designs turned out? Was there any part of the outfit that you found challenging to draw?

Oh, I am very happy with what came out. I believe I had a bit of a struggle with Flora's outfit—I’m not very familiar with drawing flowers and leaves, but by looking at some references, I got it done anyway. I also struggled with picking the right textures for each piece to make it look unique.

4. Did you expect to win the contest, or was it a complete surprise?

A total surprise! Everyone was really close! It was a struggle—Letica's and Wini13's outfits were probably my biggest competitors here. I really like how horrifying (in a good way) Letica's outfit is and how cute little witchling Wini13's actually is.

5. Could you share the names you would give to each piece of clothing you designed? What makes each item unique?

I would definitely name Stella's outfit as Vampire Regalia and each piece of the others’ outfits to match their main costume theme.

6. If these items were to be added to the Web Avatar collection, what prices would you imagine for each one and how many items will be available? Just the clothes or everything from the hair to the eyes all the way down to the socks and shoes?

I'm not sure if the outfits themselves should be split up—I like the way they are now. But I’m sure someone might want them in parts to maybe make something even better for their avatar. As for the price, it should be affordable for everyone.

7. Which Winx fairy do you think would wear your design best, and why?

I believe that Flora's outfit would suit her best, mostly because it ties into her connection to nature and how nature can sometimes be harmful to people.

8. Is there any part of the Winx Club style or universe that you inspired yourself when working on the avatars, like season 5's animation and style or season 1, for example?

For Stella, I mainly used the vampire theme from season 6—it just clicked in my mind that I’d like to see her in an old-style vampire outfit! For the others, I’m not so sure if I used anything specific from the Winx cartoon itself.

9. What advice would you give to other artists in the Winx community who might want to join future contests?

Never think that you can't do something—because you can and should!

10. And finally, how do you feel about having your designs featured on the game to be seen and forever available for purchase? Is there anything else you’d like to tell everyone who'll buy them?

I absolutely adore this idea and would love for everyone to try it out at least once! I hope that all of you find some parts of these outfits interesting for yourselves and never stop experimenting with your avatars!

Remember that these items will be available on the Web Avatar game, launching really soon!

With love,

The Winx Club Team
