@Lara412

I've heard that Lenovo Thinkpads are ideal if you want a durable machine that won't crack even if it's dropped from the top of the stairs  But it depends on the series, so if you're looking for a laptop, let me know and I'll find the resources I saved and I'll offer some reccs.

Having a PC sounds so good tbh, plus you can get those cute customizable keyboards that are the fashion nowadays /houra//

I genuinely wonder if Dell's premium line works way better, but I don't want to try :ugeek: It sounds like a marketing ploy to sell us a subpar machine so we can keep buying spare parts, etc.

Mine started giving me blue screens while I was writing my dissertation and I lived in mortal fear that I'd wake up and find it busted (I took backups but still)... and it was for all sorts of problems, like the RAM, hard drive, etc. Like, I'd understand these issues if I treated it badly, but I treat my devices like they're my babies so why... :cloud:

The fact that you have to figure out maintenance is so... :? That shouldn't have to be your responsibility and it wastes your valuable time, ugh.

I've heard the same about Lenovo! But I do want a full PC, and the cute full size keyboards are definitely a plus!

They use the same parts for all their lines so the premium line is just a fancier case unfortunately //EHDOHEH/

That sounds horrible and so scary even with backups! Dissertations are not the thing to play with, and Im glad it turned out okay.

Technically I dont have to, but if I put in a ticket they'll try to fix things over the phone and I've had enough of them treating me like I dont know what Im doing so I just dont bother and I do it myself cause it's just easy fixes really

Also (without giving away my actual location cause this city has so many people in it lol) I live in London! We could've walked past eachother and not known it

I hope you had a good time here /flowerpower/ And that you avoided the rain hopefully!

Thank You so much! :)

Oh You live in London now? So cool! Well, since I don't live there, I can tell You where I was and You'll know how close we were. I was in Hackney, cause on Friday evening/night they had the show in the Empire there, that I was gifted ticket to. :)

I've seen a conversation about PCs. I've over 10 years old Asus, my sis and some in family also had Asus. Now they are all few years old, but if You don't mind constantly dying/disconnecting power cable, they are pretty stable (or used to be). My IT friend also usually suggests Acers. Just throwing it out there. Also yeah, don't go for Dell.

You'll be able to handle heavy games too with a proper PC setup. Lately though, I've been seeing build-your-own-laptop ads, where you decide how many USB ports, screen type, etc., that you want, and when you get your laptop delivered, you fit the parts like puzzle pieces so that it's truly made for you (the parts themselves are detachable) which I think is pretty cool :o

Paying more for the same quality... my eye is twitching.... Dell, girl, what are you doing...

We love a self-made, self-sufficient woman in this house /flowerpower/

AH, not to butt in, but thank you for your input :D I'd take a constantly dying/disconnecting power cable over blue screens and hardware issues that cause unending anxiety
And yes! I have an Acer right now and it works like a charm. It might be the models I've been buying but I've noticed that their laptops aren't as durable as they used to be (but I would recommend them to anyone too).

How is Dell still functioning as a company with so many issues //EHDOHEH/

!!! I'm so close to Hackney lol! We really COULD have run into eachother and not known! Did you enjoy the show?

By the way, what language(s) are you learning if you don't mind me asking?

I have heard good things about Acer actually! I'll have to look into it more because I haven't actually ever bought a full PC before

Games are the reason I want a PC! I want to be able to play the newer games properly and my laptop just can't handle it :(

Building your own is so fun actually! But now everything is going up in price unfortunately.

Are there any games you want to play other than Assasin's Creed?

See, whenever I bring up the specs issue irl, everyone always says "just buy a mac" but am I willing to migrate to a completely different OS... probably not :?

We have gen-AI to thank for most of those price increases

Hm... I never thought about it. Maybe the original Pikmin games? I'm an RPG girlie though, so maybe Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, NieR and NieR Automata... I don't know if people make hidden object games nowadays but definitely those too. I'd also love to play one of those dual player games with Accou and you, like Overcooked

What about you? :D

Do not buy a mac! I am an avid Apple hater and they have so many shady business practices. Also they purposefully stop you from fixing their devices yourself. And im also a genAI hater :ehmeh::

Day 9384593480398 of me begging you to make a Steam account!!!! they DO make hidden object games and so many games I know you would like such as RPGs!!! plsss make an account <3

Hi! I'm Astra. I love crafting crazy winx theories while trying to make them somehow not contradict canon (for example - that the earth fairies are the main villains in season 4 and the black circle are rebels against them). I also draw sometimes, and I have a sketch in the Enchanted Gallery (and am currently looking for an opinion pwss).

Didn't the black circle literally RIP wings off their bodies? Since it seems that the wings are a part of their body that's like ripping off someone's arm...I'm all for theories but that one's a little unlikely :?
