Winx Club really got a perfect timing. Those were the times when we didn’t have such an abundance of content; everyone in the country watched the same TV channels and the same cartoons on them. As I see it, W.I.T.C.H. series was the only real competitor for Winx back then. Sailor Moon already felt a bit outdated in those years, and Totally Spies lacked a good storyline. And I guess W.I.T.C.H. "lost its battle" because it was aimed rather at a little bit narrower audience of teenagers, while Winx managed to attract both very young children and teenagers. Ngl it still makes me sad that W.I.T.C.H. series never got a continuation, even though it was because of Winx Club.
And yes, I agree, that after all Winx was simply very well-made series. It had stylish vibrant visual, great music, interesting storyline — everything was on point. It did feel refreshing and modern. Well, these are speculations of mine. Yet I'm still surprised that the fandom has remained that active for such a long time, because the series has had more downs than ups over the years.
We had many cartoons in Finland but I felt like most of them were aimed more for boys so maybe that's why Winx felt so special for me because finally I found something that I was really into. (But we too had only one or two channels to choose what to watch on the weekend mornings
) I didn't even have any favorite cartoon before Winx. :') But I didn't know that W.i.t.c.h. was airing before Winx! I read W.i.t.c.h. comics (and I still enjoy them) and I think the comics were published before Winx in Finland but the animation came here kinda late. But the W.i.t.c.h. animation was indeed for older audience, it was darker and I was afraid of many of the monsters when I was a kid (but I still watched it tho) It's funny how many people on the internet are still arguing about which one is better, Winx or W.i.t.c.h. and some of them claim Winx is a copy of W.i.t.c.h. while they're SO different 
I didn't know canceling the 3rd season of W.i.t.c.h. was because of Winx! 
That's sad, I'd loved to see a continuation since the comics continued so far and had many great sagas! I agree, I love the world-building of Magix, color palettes, character designs, MUSICS (still give me chills
) and a long story line with mysteries (which are solved and not left too open), character development and how we get to know the characters better and learn more about the magic dimension through the series. I'm happily surprised too that so many fans are still active <3 Maybe they just love the original seasons so much that nothing can ruin it natie wrote:Lovix is my favorite line from Witty. You are so right about Jakks dolls' hands and feet! These dolls really do look very elegant! And the fact that they can take different poses makes them even better.
I also like that Jakks released special edition dolls, they looked cool. It's just too bad they released only Bloom in the limited Silver/Gold/Blue Believix lines. Like, I get that it's a limited series, but I still wanted to see other fairies.
Yeah the Lovix line is so well-done and they look gorgeous!
They did them better than the Sophix line imo. I'm thinking about getting some Lovix dolls later. <3Yeah you see the difference when you're photographing them: you can make them do more magical poses and they really look like they're doing spells
I found out there're lots of these special editions quite late and immediately fell in love with them
Have you seen the Believix Power dolls by Jakks? They kinda remind me of the golden/silver/blue/pink Bloom editions and they're SO gorgeous: every Winx has their own color It's sad that the limited edition dolls are rare and so expensive nowadays 
I rewatched it for the first time only around 2015 and was surprised by some teenage slang words (at least in the Russian dub 
). Although I liked this cartoon when I was about 8 years old, from those words alone I realized how much it was aimed at teenagers. 
Several years ago the comics were re-released in Russia in the form of books. I still haven't bought it, but I'll definitely buy the first volume when I have the chance. 
They have incredibly beautiful wings there 
The only doll I have as a new in box is concert Stella by jakks.
