I wish we could get our old accounts back

I know, same here, it's so unfair... They're gone forever :\

You know, now as an adult I understand Rainbow 100%. Minimods and mods were requesting the access to the database to create a new forum, but as a company especially a CHILDREN'S company that is 100% out of the question. Not only from one company to another but especially from one company to actual members. You're basically giving the user's information to users of the website which went 100% against their policies... I can 100% understand why they couldn't...

and yet, I feel like it's just so unfair that all they did with our data was... delete it. They kept our accounts but deleted the forum, so nothing remains...

I get it too. I just wish that even if the site couldn't be used anymore it would still be able to go back and see your account and things :(

Yup, that's my only pet peeve with Rainbow as well. They closed the forum 2 weeks after the shutdown announcement came, didn't even let us find a suitable place to jump to, removed the forums URL from the menu on the shutdown day (although it was still working), and not even 2 months after it closed they completely destroyed the forum, the URL stopped working... it's unfair to say the least. I was counting on at least 2, 3 years before a total removal of it...

I get why they did it, it may not look that way but hosting a forum ends up taking A LOT of space on a website, my website for example has 25gb and right now only has 10gb free more or less, 6gb are the forum alone right now. But still... it's still unfair that it happened and they didn't even care.

The fact they built the community and the forums themselves and created such a beautiful area for people to meet to then just abandon and destroy it never sat right with me. :cloud:

It's the same with Winx Adventure too, why release an update at the end of February if 1 month and 1 week later you'll close the game? //EHDOHEH/ not even a warning beforehand or enough time to say goodbye. Two weeks was such a short time, no one was able to save anything and they knew it...

Ouch that hurts :/

Oh I didn't think about that. But still I think they could have at least did it a bit friendlier.

But why did they never gave us something in return? They closed Gardenia Park which was sad, but they gave us Winx Adventure and that made up for it. To deleted that one as well and leave is with nothing :(

When it came to that era they made a lot of empty promises, like I love this website, but as an adult, I can see they were also a terrible company to its users A.K.A. us :ehmeh::

They promised specialists for Winx Adventure when the game launched without them after the beta. They kept saying specialists would be joining later until December 2010 and then suddenly stopped.

Then they made a huge change to Gardenia and made the city a bit tinier and said in their announcement it would give space to brand new city areas - they never came. :ehmeh::

Then Garden of Charmix. Teased a fairy form of Layla that never came. Teased 3 more chapters, one around snow, another in the Swamp and a third in the Lake Roccaluche - also never came. :ehmeh::

They also teased the Love & Pet Shop after the Italian and Spanish versions of the game had a hallowinx event with pets, promising they'd return when the event ended. :cloud:

Then released 10 more chapters and the transformations in February and closed the game in April - promising a brand new multiplayer game to replace it by the end of 2012 for the website in its place... NOTHING CAME. Unless you count the Sirenix surfers game and later on the Winx Fairy School, both for mobile and paid to play. //EHDOHEH/

I dream of having a memory like yours! Memorizing it all is just wow.

As a minimode, it was a whole lot of drama for us. We tried everything but there was total ignorance from the administration. We were just shut out.

I only know because I have prints and the announcements all saved. I used to take pictures of everything and save it on a very old blogger. That includes wallpapers, pictures of the website and the games, so I read them all a few years ago and it was shocking to see so many empty promises.

I know you did, I was aware of the staff forum from back then too. On the very last day before the shut down the PT minimods asked me to create an account and talk about my forum back then, I did but no one announced it in time before the topics became locked... Everyone was trying to find a solution but we were all "kids", we were all trying to find a place to keep in contact with each other and panicking with the sudden closure of everything... it's a shame the way things ended.

That is so sad and stressful. I wasn't playing anymore around that time but I would be heartbroken. I was in fact heartbroken when I came back to the site and everything was gone :(
