What changes do you think would make the story better?

I really don't know.

Reading update

Last week (or was it two weeks ago?) I started reading a few books. Tbh, whatever I was in the mood for. Work has been a bit exhausting lately, so I haven't been reading much. The only thing that's helping me is reading the book while listening to the audiobook -- it helps me keep concentrated.

Sooooo, these are the ones I'm currently reading:

The Secret History is a re-read. I'm listening to the audiobook which is narrated by the author herself. And I love her voice. in_love_ I'm also underlining and annotating this one, so I'm taking my sweet time with it.

Check & Mate is a cute romance about chess. I haven't really had the time to pick it up and fully get into it.

The Teacher is the one I'm more focused on. I'm also listening to the audiobook. I decided to pick this one up because it's a thriller, and it's usually more exciting for me. It keeps me on the edge of my feet.

Meet Me at Luke's: Lessons in Life and Love from Gilmore Girls is one I'm reading through Netgalley. I just started it yesterday. It's about one of my favourite TV shows (Gilmore Girls).

Reading update

I ended up finishing all these this week, except for The Secret History.

Teacher was a bit predictable, nothing special about it.

Check & Mate was really funny and entertaining. It was a great way to learn a bit more about chess. :)

Meet Me At Luke's was amazing! I'll post a review of that one!

Meet Me at Luke's: Lessons in Life and Love from Gilmore Girls, by Kristine Eckart

This book feels like a Gilmore Girls: 101 Guide. I don't think you need to read any other book about the show, because this touches on every aspect there is to talk about. It's super complete and precise, as well as fun!

The writing is incredibly engaging, leaving you stuck to the book for hours without even noticing.

The analysis the author does in each topic is very thorough, you can notice the deep level of research she did. She mentions friendship, love interests, parenting, how the show started (the idea behind it, casting, etc.), and many many other aspects. She analyses not only the storyline and the characters' traits and growth, but also the references and pop culture moments mentioned throughout the show. She also does an amazing job when it comes to the Rory Gilmore Reading List, for example.

The illustrations are also a major part of this book; they're mesmerising and the amount of detail is incredible!

Reading update

Hi everyone!

Sooo, last week I finished these two books:

    Image

I really enjoyed them. The Secret History was a re-read, simply five stars. And Why Didn't They Ask Evans was a good mystery novel. I missed reading one of those, since I've been reading a lot of romance novels lately.

I'm currently reading The Wedding People. It tackles some serious issues, such as depression and suicide, but it's such an important book. I'm at 36%, but I feel like this one will have a really strong message for us at the end.

Aaaand I'm currently on holidays and planning to read a lot more  so expected more updates from me. :)

I finished The Wedding People and it really was a powerful book. The moral of the story is to stay true to yourself, fight for what you want. And maybe what you want now is different from what you might want in 10 years from now, but you gotta rediscover yourself and accept that things may change, that you may change.

Synopsis:
A propulsive and uncommonly wise novel about one unexpected wedding guest and the surprising people who help us start anew.
It's a beautiful day in Newport, Rhode Island, when Phoebe Stone arrives at the grand Cornwall Inn wearing a green dress and gold heels, not a bag in sight, alone. She's immediately mistaken by everyone in the lobby for one of the wedding people, but she's actually the only guest at the Cornwall who isn't here for the big event. Phoebe is here because she's dreamt of coming for years - she hoped to shuck oysters and take sunset sails with her husband, only now she's here without him. Meanwhile, the bride has accounted for every detail and every possible disaster the weekend might yield except for, well, Phoebe-which makes it that much more surprising when the women can't stop confiding in each other.
In turns uproariously, absurdly funny and devastatingly tender, Alison Espach's The Wedding People is a look at the winding paths we can take to places we never imagined—and the chance encounters it sometimes takes to reroute US.

I think that'd be cool to see! I don't know why but seeing a picture of a thing after it was deepcleaned is a thing I do enjoy. Maybe because it looks appealing? I don't really know  but I'd love to see it!
