Is it normal that I can see only one channel when going to Gardenia? I can't choose any other channels anymore (well the English one is the one I use mostly because the whole website is in English for me but I'm still a bit confused if it's supposed to work like that, that I can't change the channel in the game anymore.)

It is. With localization finished, each language has their own channel now. But you can still meet others in the bedrooms.
