I mean it makes sense, they rebooted the entire show, but getting completely rid of the old database, the old news, the old web avatar... I don't know, I feel betrayed as a very old user.
I already felt betrayed after the forum's closure.

I kind of saw it coming, but I didn't expect that they will delete almost everything from the old version, they only left few games and thats pretty much it, it's kinda sad honestly, I've no idea if wayback machine has stuff saved either :I

Surely you can find the old UIs, but I doubt you can play the old games.

I saw it coming too, they couldn't leave the site with World of Winx design, but the fact they demolished the whole database... it feels like they don't want to have anything to do with the classic Winx Club.

So all in all, this is currently the only proof that we existed, that this whole thing existed. All the comments from our old accounts, all the metadata that could be found from the official website is gone and swiped from the face of the earth. This is just sad to think about.

How can a website go from this that we have right here, which is mostly a recreation... to what they released today? It makes no sense. It makes me feel so sad with the lack of care rainbow has been putting towards fans. And I wasn't a reboot hater or anything, but all these bad decisions are snowballing into more and more diasters.

They did say that reboot is catered to new fans/newer generation, but I've seen others saying that they said its for both old and new generation, so....yeah

I do feel somewhat sad too, because they didn't have to go hardcore into deleting everything...as Joxter said, it's like they don't wanna do anything about it, yet the original paved the way for them to make a reboot :I

I'm so sad and disappointed that EACH TIME they have updated the website they have deleted something important. :cloud: I was looking forward to see some updates but NOT updates like this. Some time ago on the forums there was a discussion about if they're gonna renew the website when the reboot gets launched so I saved pictures of the web avatar and of the website overall just in case, because I was also seeing this could happen since they deleted Gardenia Park, WA and the forums earlier too.

I'm sad that they deleted the web avatar, the detailed descriptions of the characters and the articles about their home planets and rooms etc, many minigames, the tests... Like, there used to be MANY tests and now there're only two of them left and if I remember it correctly, they're exactly the same tests but with a new pictures from reboot. Not so creative.

Like, if they decided to keep some of the tests and the minigames from the older website, why didn't they just keep all of them?? Why did they delete some of them and didn't bring any new games? (Yes, we have the Roblox game but it could've co-existed with the other games!) And why did they delete the web avatar which was so iconic and an important way to make your account look like more personal? And deleting our accounts, don't even start... :cloud: Now we're just a mass of anonymous and basic website users (ok they were asking our full names so not anonymous in THAT way but in a way that we can't personalize our accounts anymore, they're just waiting for us to buy something...)

Actually it looks like the website is existing just for promoting the Winx shop and the reboot but every piece of the unique history of the Winx is taken away

Like, they could have done different sections about Winx characters and art styles in seasons 1-8 etc so the new Winxers could understand the history of Winx AND enjoy the latest news of the reboot. Like "this is how Magix looked like in season 1, this is a sum up about what happened in season x etc.) It looks like the movies don't exist either. Now if new people find Winx through the reboot, they need to go to WinxWiki to find out the origin of the series. It's unbelievable that you can't find more information about Winx Club on its OWN OFFICIAL website and you need to go to google to learn more. One can learn more about Winx Club by reading some fan made content.

Also the website looks like unfinished, gives lots of "error" notifications etc and the layout is just so boring: only white and violet (if you click any other page than the home page). In the og website we used to have beautiful background art with Winxy patterns like hearts or some glitter etc (ok the latest version was very minimalistic too but before that era) but now the background is almost BLANK, looking like a neutral CV made by Canva. //EHDOHEH/

Lol I know that I was complaining about the earlier version too on another topic just a couple of days ago but this isn't the update I wanted!!! I was hoping to get MORE content but now there's even less content than there used to be... Ok I'm so triggered rn...

Btw they didn't inform us about deleting the forums back then and they didn't inform us about deleting 90% of the content this time either. They just keep repeating their same mistakes.

The deletion of the old website is so tragic. So many things could've been at risk of becoming lost media if it weren't for places like the Internet Archive and the preservation efforts of sites like this. :// Hopefully we see some people migrate over from the old official forums, but who knows.

It really hurts to see Rainbow tear down everything the old fans had with this reboot, both with the actual reboot series itself and the website. :problem:

Yeah it feels like they don't care about what's important to us at all. If the fandom wasn't active enough to save the media, we would've lost everything.

Absolutely. It's why I'm glad that communities like this exist, and that more awareness is being raised towards media preservation in general. It's good that we have what we do!

Speaking of, if possible, I highly recommend uploading the web avatar items to a website like the Spriter's Resource if anyone has all of them. That way, anyone can use them, and they stay around forever. There's a section for the old website on the site that I've contributed to already.

I know how to get images etc. from swf files, so if anyone has them and needs help, message me!
