The earliest Winx's website you remember

Postby Hallowinxer » Mon Nov 18, 2024 2:38 pm

My earliest memory from Winx's official website seems to be from 2009. First I only remembered the layout but not the years I was visiting the site but then I heard people talking about waybackmachine here and managed to find some screenshots of the website! :ahhh: It's just SO nostalgic to see the background and those stars around the "loading" text: I saw the same circling stars in every minigame I played while waiting for them to load.

In the 2009 version there were no forum, avatars or multiplayer games. There were minigames, articles, news and information about the characters and places in Magix but I really didn't understand any English back then and I was so sad I didn't understand anything. My parents helped me to create an account and my nickname was Superpupu (I used almost the same nickname, Superpupu998, in Winx Club online later).

After the 4th season was airing and the website changed to the same one than in this re-launch, I was still able to visit the older version with some random language settings for a while because I suppose in that country the 4th season came much later so the website wasn't changed yet. It felt like going back in history!

In the 2009 version we had many epic minigames: the original Kiko's adventure, Attack on Magix, a dress up game (where the girls weren't Winx girls but drawn in a same style), Layla's archery game (you can see it in the sc), Chatta's frisbee game (in the sc also) and magical pets' volleyball game. There was also a "create a postcard" game where you could choose a background of different nostalgic concept art backgrounds and then drag Winxs and specialists to the card. I haven't found that game anymore. But luckily I've found out some websites where you can still play Kiko's adventure, Attack on Magix, pets' volleyball game and the dress-up game. And there was also a game where you payed with Livy and tried to collect envelopes and avoid hitting rocks or monsters(?)

This is my first time ever trying to post a picture on the forums!! :ahhh: I hope it works, I didn't post any photos even back then... So HOPEFULLY there's my screenshot of the earlier website:

I'm also trying to post some screenshots where you can see some of the minigames I talked about earlier:

So here you can (hopefully) see the Winx dress up game and a glimpse of Attack on Magix icon.

And here you can hopefully see the pets volleyball game icon. In this sc there're also games from old Winx's 4kids website (or something?) where I was also playing some minigames: Flora flight training, dress-up game with Winx girls and Pixie clone capture. And there're also a more difficult Kiko game with the hunting trolls.

What about you? Do you remember this version or another versions? /flowerpower/

Edit. I didn't manage to post the images so I tried to link them.
Edit 2: You can see the pictures if you open a new tab and copy-paste the links :geek:

I didn't know that Attack to Magix and Winx Dress Up originally come from the official site! In early 10s they were copied and widely spread all over the Internet and I had no idea what their source is! Moreover, I had files with these minigames on some pirate CD I had in my childhood. I didn't have the Internet on my computer and generally didn't know about existing of flash minigames online :? I also remember how my friend and I were trying to storage these files on floppy disks for whatever reason... Sorry for the offtopic  But I enjoyed these minigames too. Especially Attack to Magix! Many many years later I found this game on a random site and finally finished it

Until the autumn of 2010 I had no access to the Internet except my mobile phone. But I doubt it was possible for my small flip Motorola to open the Winx Club site back then (but I bet I tried) So the earliest version of winxclub.com I saw and remember is around my registration date there, November 2010. It was almost the same version as this remake has. But there was an animated sparkling background, the logo and the header were different.

I also vividly remember the summer variation with the bright warm background and a summer coctail near the logo! /houra//

Overall, I find it funny that even though I spent all my spare time on the Winx Club site for the next four years after registration, I can barely remember any other versions. I'm sure it's because I didn't explore other pages of the site after registration that much, I discovered the forum and I no longer needed anything else!

I also remember how inconvenient it was to switch between the Russian and English versions of the site back in the day. Russian wasn't included in the list of languages on the English site, and there were no other languages listed on the Russian site. :? The only way to switch was to copy and paste the link to the English version. Russian users had to do this, for example, to enter Winx Adventure, as we didn't have the access to the game from the Russian site :?
