To be honest the size is more a storing issue. I have shelf in perfect "standard" manga size, and when publishers make them bigger, I can't put them there!![]()
I generally wonder if that's the case, or if they assume, that there is only "one kind of reader" interested in "one kind of story", or if they got lazy in their work and uninterested in looking for different things. Perhaps it's a combination of factors, and maybe some financial ones too (like higher licencing costs of titles coming from different japanese publishing houses?).
I meant that if it's a longer series, like more than 1-5 volumes, it's too much of financial commitment. Like imagine importing One Piece from USA... financial ruin!
It definitely got more expensive here too, though it still is reasonable. Though yeah, back in the day it was bit more expensive than an average magazine, and now it's closer to a paperbag book.
Also I can't imagine ever getting such a deal, as I did with Sailor Moon back in early 2000s. I've got the entire series for about 1,5 - 2 euros per volume, all new. But that was because a really cool bookstore went out of business and another, nearby one took their stock. Thing is, that other bookstore maonly sold religious publications. So they put all the mangas in the furthest, smallest niche they had, in the back of the shop, and put the price as close to "for free" as they could, just to get rid of them as fast as they could, not to spook their regular customers.

Which one? 12 kindoms or the cat? If the cat, then maybe, though I never thought about it...
I'm glad and thank You. See, being, let's say, "over 25", I still don't know that many people reading manga. And I stil feel rather silly going to manga section, or store, as they are usually occupied by teens![]()
It did? Oh that's so interesting! Was it still in the times of Yt uploads and "odd" anime websites?![]()
For me it was probably the other way around, as I think that it was these uploads and fan translations, that helped me learn English (don't pay attention to my spelling, it's a combination of dyslexia, annoying keyboard and lack of spell-check).
Btw I kinda miss those translations, cause the people who made them actually cared, so they included translations of anything written on screen, like roadsigns, or letters (netflix!) and footnotes explaing culture, ect. You could genuinely learn from that, right?
Aw, thank You! Yours is so cute too!![]()
It‘s okay I mean I feel like we have three parallel conversations in different threads. It‘s okay that you get confused

Ooh, sad! Totally get that. Do you have those standard white ikea shelf’s or what do they look like?
Could be the case! Or it‘s the thought:“Never change a running system. Definitely works a second time!
I never import stuff I only buy in local stores but nowadays when I wanna buy something I read the first chapters or even a volume or two online and if I like it I‘m gonna buy it because buying with no clue is just a waste of money for me. But I still prefer physical media. I just love the scent of paper. I can‘t miss out on that

But as I said I try to buy careful. I like to read stuff several times but it has to be interesting and worthy buying then.
2 Euro!? Bargain! I could never ever imagine those prices today in second hand. Omg imagine they were like:“manga? Isn‘t that the stuff with tentacles? Ugh! Out of my sight!“

No, no Salomea. Don‘t feel embarrassed. We‘re the real OG‘s! They should bow when they see you in the manga section

I‘ve a comic shop here and the customers are so mixed. I mostly see adults here so I never get a weird feeling being there

It was the YouTube times where you had to watch like several videos to get through one episode. And every part was like 7 minutes or something. Quality was like 360px or even less. I was glad having at least something to watch

I think I mostly watched fan–subs! You just unlocked a memory! I remember those little translations when it came to proverbs or specific Japanese words. There was so much love in the fan subs!

Your English is pretty good. Don‘t worry about that
